The bar-stool plan
Every Baja trip starts with a bad idea
Every Baja trip starts the same way. Somebody at the bar says "we should ride Baja," everybody nods, and three weeks later the group chat is arguing about tires. Good. That's the fun part. But before anybody buys a single part, settle the big question: which Baja are you riding?
Adventure Baja is our Baja riding and moto business: rides, tours and moto products. The rides come in two flavors, and they are very different animals. One is built for dirt bikes. The other is built for the big adventure bikes. Same peninsula, same tacos, completely different day in the saddle.
Choose your weapon
Small bike or big bike?
Northern Baja Enduros
- Three days on dirt bikes, from the border town of Tecate and back.
- Day one: mountain trails past Laguna Hanson in Constitución National Park, rocks and sand, then Mike's Sky Ranch, a haven for off-road riders since 1967. Pool, bar, stories.
- Day two: steep climbs and descents through the backcountry to the coast and Coyote Cal's in Erendira. Toes in the Pacific.
- Day three: coastal trails back to Tecate, smooth stretches and tough ones, ending on a high.
Baja Big Adventure Bikes
- Three days for large adventure bikes, ridden like they were meant to be ridden.
- Day one: fish tacos in Ensenada, then the pavement gives way to trail on the run down to Coyote Cal's.
- Day two: the cross-over trails inland to Mike's Sky Ranch, sand and rocky climbs, and a steak dinner with hot showers at the end.
- Day three: sharp turns and steep climbs through the Sierra de Juárez, back to the border at Tecate.
Baja doesn't care what you rideIt cares that you brought the right bike for the route.
So start with the questions that matter. Which motorcycles is the trip built for? How much riding experience does it expect? What's the route like, and how much is road and how much is dirt? A big twin and a light enduro bike want very different trails, and the right match is the difference between grinning all day and pushing all day.

What's in the box
Beds, bikes, food and guides
Adventure Baja rides come as a package: hotels, motorcycles, food and guides. Bring your own bike, or ride one of ours: Husqvarna and KTM, kept in top shape. The guides know where the good trails go and the stories behind the places you pass. The beds are at spots like Mike's Sky Ranch and Coyote Cal's, the kind of places you keep talking about long after the dust washes out.
Before you sign up, line up the details your crew cares about. Own bike or rental? Where does the ride start, and how do you and the bike get there? Where do you sleep, who carries the luggage, and who's there when something breaks? Then compare trips by what's in the box, not just the number on the lid.
Garage time
Get the bike ready before Baja does it for you
The pre-Baja list
- Make the parts list from the actual bike in your garage and its real condition, not from memory.
- Write down the OEM numbers for anything you replace, and confirm the full model and year before you order.
- Tires and mousse: walk in with your exact tire setup and get specific answers. Our mousse insert guide covers the questions to ask.
- ECU or tuning work: bring the hardware identity and how the bike is set up. Our ECU tuning guide has the rest.
- Leave time to install, inspect and test ride before you load up.
A box of parts on the garage floor is not a finished repair. It's a box. Bolt it on, ride the bike, ride it again. Find the weep, the rattle and the loose spoke in your own driveway, not halfway to Mike's.

Last call
The ride you'll still be talking about
Baja in four moves
- Pick the bike: dirt bike for the enduro loop, big adventure bike for the big-bike loop.
- Pick the ride that matches it, and your crew's experience.
- Know what's included before you pack.
- Do the bike work early, then stop thinking about it.
Baja rewards the riders who planned for it. Get the boring stuff done at home, then go. Somewhere between the pool at Mike's and the sunset at Coyote Cal's, you'll forget the group chat ever argued about anything.
